Taken at its word

We take Scripture at its word, without requiring a special framework to interpret it. Select a topic to read the summary.

God's revelation

There is one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as Christ himself gave in the baptismal formula of Matthew 28:19.

Creation, man, and sin

Humans were created in God's image, with the capacity to govern creation (Genesis 1:26-27). Through disobedience Adam and Eve lost that image, and sin entered all humanity. People are by nature dead in sin and separated from God, and cannot reconcile themselves to him by their own effort.

Jesus and redemption

Christ's perfect obedience fulfilled the law in our place. His death on the cross is the payment for the sin of all people.

Justification

Salvation comes through faith, not works. Christ died for everyone, and those who believe receive forgiveness. It is by grace alone: the undeserved love of God providing everything needed for salvation.
